New York, NY — Tina Kim Gallery is pleased to return to Frieze Los Angeles, taking place at the Santa Monica Airport from February 16-19, 2023. The gallery will spotlight contemporary artists from across our roster, featuring works by the Mexico-based artist Tania Pérez Córdova (b. 1979, Mexico), whose solo exhibition Precipitation is on view in New York, while concurrently the subject of a solo exhibition at the Museo Tamayo, Mexico City; new works by Korean-born, Amsterdam-based artist Mire Lee (b. 1988, South Korea), who was included in the 2022 Venice Biennale and Carnegie International, with an upcoming solo exhibition at the New Museum slated to open on June 29, 2023.
A major booth highlight will be works by Pacita Abad (b. 1946, Philippines; d. 2004, Singapore), a pioneer of the trapunto painting technique, which involves painting and adhering rickrack, buttons, and other materials onto stuffed canvases. Abad will be the subject of a major touring retrospective, opening at the Walker Art Center in April 2023, that will travel to SFMOMA in October. Also on view will be works by Dansaekhwa masters, including Ha Chong-Hyun, Kim Tschang-Yeul, Kwon Young-Woo, and Park Seo-Bo.
